AMPTD believes that creating a platform to connect investors with social impact projects will bring us closer to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The name AMPTD is an abbreviation of the names of all the co-founders: Arta, Matt, Philip, Tommy, and Digvijay. A group of students who were both interested and passionate about sustainable and financial disciplines who came together to form an organization that combines both, making their community better and the world a better place. Our co-founders attend an International Baccalaureate world school, which prepares them for the rapidly changing world by aiding them with projects such as AMPTD.

AMPTD is designed to align with specific targets of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. AMPTD aims to get closer to:
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Target 11.3 “INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE URBANIZATION”
“By 2030, enhance inclusive and sustainable urbanization and capacity for participatory, integrated and sustainable human settlement planning and management in all countries.”
AMPTD targets 11.3 as it creates a platform for sustainable urbanization to be facilitated in. Many of the projects funded by investors aim to make Maastricht and other communities more sustainable by enhancing sustainable planning and management as part of these new initiatives.
Target 11.A “SUPPORT LEAST DEVELOPED COUNTRIES IN SUSTAINABLE AND RESILIENT BUILDING”
“Support least developed countries, including through financial and technical assistance, in building sustainable and resilient buildings utilizing local materials.”
In addition to catalyzing the community of Maastricht, AMPTD also aims to influence other communities, especially marginalized ones, such as lower economically developed countries, in their pursuit of greater sustainability. AMPTD does so through its project platform, where investors can contribute.
SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals
Target 11.5 “INVEST IN LEAST DEVELOPED COUNTRIES”
“Adopt and implement investment promotion regimes for least developed countries.”
AMPTD can help address Target 11.5 by aiding investment in developing countries, aiming to bring them closer to being more sustainable. AMPTD is able to do so through its investor-project platform, where projects can be created within these developing countries, and investors can invest in them, enabling them to meet sustainable standards, increase overall life expectancy in their country, and foster stronger partnerships to approach the SDG goals closely.
Target 11.9 “ENHANCE SDG CAPACITY IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES”
“Enhance international support for implementing effective and targeted capacity-building in developing countries to support national plans to implement all the Sustainable Development Goals, including through North-South, South-South and triangular cooperation.”
AMPTD can meet target 17.9, as it can enhance international support for plans to implement all SDG goals. AMPTD does this through its investor-project platform. Investors, funds, and assets can be directed into developing countries’ assets to support their national plans in achieving closer alignment with the SDGs. For example, AMPTD can facilitate projects that address a specific SDG goal in a developing country (or even in non-developed communities, such as Maastricht) by providing funding. The project’s activities may help the government or community move closer to achieving a specific Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
Arta’s passion for the sustainable and financial fields came when he was younger. He realized a gap in his community for middle school students being empowered, specifically in sustainable fields. He then co-founded an organization that would catalyze change in the social, ecological, and environmental aspects of his community, while empowering students to prepare for the rapidly changing world. He realized an issue: sometimes funding in similar organizations was very low, so he knew something had to be done. Arta was also fascinated by how the market works, particularly in finance and economics, so we suggested creating a platform that helps connect investors to social impact projects, aiming to make a positive impact.

Philip has always been a person who wanted to create and catalyze real, authentic social impact. He was also always fascinated by how various sets of solutions could be made for environmental issues throughout communities and the world. This fuels his passion for AMPTD, as it empowers people to create real social change themselves, which ultimately also contributes to a healthier environment. He believes AMPTD is crucial to have throughout communities, as it helps connect local action to global impact, contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations.
Philip Gehlen
Matt beleives AMPTD matters as it turns local ideas into global solutions. He beleives that it is a authentic catalyst that can aid communities, support the Sustainable Development Goals, and generate funding and resources for such communties to aid in facilitate the projects made to contribute to the SDGs. In additon, Matt has a drive for such organizations as it gives peopel the tools, and the voice, to make chnage which is real and lasting, where they live.
Matt Höfler
Tommy’s hometown Maastricht, inspired some aspects of AMPTD as he aided it’s development. He believes that AMPTD strives for the sustainable development of communities, especially Maastricht. AMPTD comes with a very high set of benefits for the city, and it’s residents, which fuels Tommy’s passion. In addtion, he thinks that AMPTD benefits eveyone invloved, whether it is the projects that require funding, or the investors that gain return on their investments- therefore aiding Maastricht as a whole.

Digvijay is very passionate about AMPTD as he beleives that it is a real chance for us, as a community, to do good and to get closer to the Sustainable Development Goals.
